LEDBETTER IRELAND UPDATE

Greetings in the
wonderful name of JESUS! Thank you
all for helping and co-labouring together with us for souls here in the amazing
country of Ireland! No, this is not a primitive heathen culture with bows and
spears, but rather a modern heathen culture with boom-boxes and drugs! As is
the case in your neck of the woods, the T.V., sports, and employment are the
gods we are most up against! These Irish eyes are so blinded to the joys of
heaven, the Great Commission, and the riches of Christ! Slowly, but surely,
people's hearts and minds are being turned to see the wonder of the finished
work of Jesus Christ on the cross for all the Irish! Your labours together with
us do matter, and count for eternity!
Creation Science
Meetings! During the first week of
December, we were privileged to have Dr. Kent Hovind, from Pensacola,
Florida speak on Creation, Evolution and Dinosaurs! Wow! What a neat blessing!
The first evening, he spoke at the University of Cork to about 100
people. The next evening, we had over 200 people come out! Then the next
day was Sunday, and we had an all-time record crowd of 59 in church! Two
young men (Joseph and Gerry Healy) trusted Christ right after the
meeting, with many others being really impressed about the validity of the
Scriptures and the truth of the Gospel. The next morning, a woman named Deela
Buckley got saved! We thank God for the miracles we saw that long weekend!
Christmas
Blessings All Around! Several
churches, and family members sent us such wonderful blessings at Christmas, and
we don't know how to tell you all just how much your love and care means to us!
Thank you for the gifts, cards, and words of encouragement! Thank you!
International
Ministries! I thought when we came
to Ireland, we would be mainly dealing with the Irish, but we have found
ourselves ministering to English, Indian, French, American, Finnish, and now
GERMANS! I met Deiter Base a couple of years ago, when he and his family
visited Ireland. He has moved here temporarily until the Summer, and has been
coming out to church every since January! Every Thursday evening, he sits down
with me, and we open our German Bibles and English/German dictionaries, and I
get to teach him the Book! Pray he gets saved!
Christmas Play
in Mallow! The Christians in Mallow
are such a great group! At Christmas, we performed our very own Christmas play
to the delight of everyone! What a special appreciation for the Christmas story
when EVERYONE in the church got to be a part - there was NO audience - we ALL
were involved, and were blessed!
Home-Front News. Just to report old Betsy is about to be put out to
pasture! I have had my car here for four years, and she "just ain't what
she used to be!" The roads here ruin cars, so the Lord has directed us to
just the right car for 7 people - another Volvo! The very same make, just a few
years newer! Thank God!
Prayer Requests: Pray for our Spring Gospel Blitz that we are initiating
-- for the following people to get saved: Deiter, The Mayer Family, Warren,
Mary, Marlene, Tadgh (I'll tell you more about him later), and Bert &
Sheila -- for the following to grow strong: Ken, Pat, and The Daly Family (lots
of struggles) -- for all the folks at both Bible Baptist Church of Blarney and
Mallow to become soul-winners; -- and, for us to be faithful preaching God's
word here in Ireland!
