Some History Behind the RCA COSMAC 1802

This processor was used for several early computers, such as the COSMAC ELF, COSMAC VIP, Quest Super Elf, and Netronics ELF II. It was also used in the Voyager series of unmanned probes to Mars, as well as the Viking unmanned space missions to Mars, Viking 1 and Viking 2. It is being used right now in the Galileo spacecraft sent by NASA to study the planet Jupiter and its moons.
